Weight: 259 (yes! the scale moved!)
Yesterday was amazingly stressful in the morning (and not just because I had to get up at 4:45). I felt an amazing high when HWLBO had his green card approved and got the passport stamp (he'll get his actual card sometime in the next 3 to 6 months but the stamp is the same as the card). That was followed by a total energy crash. I staggered through my afternoon at work and was home and in bed by 8:30pm.
How tired was I? I woke up this morning (actually I had to be woken, thanks sweetie) at 7:15 feeling much joy and happiness. Sure, we're still limping to the end of the month, totally broke, but this month both of us get paid a full paycheck. Hooray! My joy and happiness was furthered by stepping on the scale this morning and seeing the numbers finally change (I thought they might have been painted on for a couple days there). I even stepped off and back on again just to be sure.
Work has been busy, but it's all good. And I get to go swimming tonight (well, maybe). Anyway, things are sooooo looking up.
My diet? Well, I'm drinking 1 - 2 protein shakes a day. Always one in the morning and sometimes a second mixed with coffee in the afternoon. The UNJURY samples I got right after surgery are great for taking to work, but they need to be mixed with strong coffee to cover their protein smell and coying sweetness. IDS is sooooo much better. I just wish they had the little individual packages.
Upping my protein feels good and the shakes taste and feel better to me than meat does. Today has looked like this:
Morning: IDS vanilla with soymilk and sf raspberry syrup
mid morning: coffee w/ soy creamer, small strip of beef jerky
Lunch: Taco Bell chicken bowl made with extra beans and no rice or chips (I was shocked I could eat the whole thing!)
snack: 12 peanuts
Dinner: I don't know but it'll be something Mexican
I've gone off carbs to a large degree, except for fruits. It just feels better that way right now.
Thanks again to everyone for their good thoughts. And Harriet? Yeah, it also explains that odd beeping I sometimes hear at night. ;)
PS. Paul as alien (thank you Bronwen.)

Yay!!! Two paychecks all at one time? Whatever will you do?!
It looks like it's all coming together now. Congratulations!

I dunno. Something wild and crazy no doubt. Maybe... pay the phone bill? Actually FILL the gas tank? The thoughts boggle.
