I had good intentions, really. But it's taken me a while to get around to putting up pictures this month. A lot has happened, mostly to do with the green card stuff. But at long last, here are my five month pictures. Images are clickable to get a larger picture.
::sigh:: I didn't really like the front picture this month, and not just because my hair looks even worse than it did last month. I had a really big problem deciding what to wear. You see, I'm in the odd position of having nothing that fits. I've mostly got clothes that fit really well last month (when Mom took me shopping) and clothes that don't fit yet (they're the size 16s and 18s that my mom gave me when she cleaned out her closet.
So I've got 24Ws and 22Ws. But I suspect I'm currently a 20W. We're talking bottoms here, of course. My top size is still 1X or XL.
Now normally I've just been wearing the slightly too large stuff from last month. It's comfy and if I run it through a hot wash and then a long dry it fits, at least for a few hours. But I didn't want to have my picture taken in something baggy and then not be able to see any change. So, I tried on a pair of 18W capris of my moms. They don't really fit me -- I have to lie on the bed to button them and, as you can see in this picture (side), they push a roll of fat up over the waist. Ugh.
Back:
On the other hand, they're size 18s and I am able to button them. So I've hope that they will actually fit by the end of the month.
As to my weight loss? Well, we're doing measurements tonight and that's the real proof, but I can see that I've lost a little bit all over this month, both my hips, chest and waist look a little smaller. I don't think my waist is below 40 inches though. That will feel really good.
Thanks to everyone who wrote about the 100 pounds loss thing! I'm still dazzled.

Hey, you look great! And you can button an 18W -- that's certainly something to be pleased about!
Can I just rant for a minute here? Like you, I currently have a bunch of clothes that don't fit. Some are too big, some are too small. It's really annoying. What's really driving me crazy is that if I buy jeans that fit at the waist, they're really baggy at the hips and ass.
Apparently, clothing manufacturers have not yet figured out that middle-aged baby boomers would still like to wear jeans, and we have bigger waists than we used to. If I look at a clothing size chart, my waist should belong to someone else entirely -- not to the same person with my chest and hip measurements, but to someone about 2 sizes away.
So I'm wearing skirts a lot now. I'm still chipping away at weight, but I don't think losing weight is going to change my basic body shape.

Rant away! I hear you Harriet -- that was my body shape too. I say *was* only because I have a roll of skin goo now (I've deflated!) that I'm not sure what to call it). Eloise has always had the opposite problem -- if it fits in her hips the waist has to be altered down. Darn her hour glass figure (she's lost 122 btw!).
One of the reasons my pants go from fitting to too big so fast is that really my waist is the only thing holding them up, especially now that low riding jeans are back in style. So as soon as that measurement drops a couple inches, well, the jeans seem to be dropping too.
It's ironic that you mention middle age because the jeans that have fit me best for longest are actually the ones designed for plus-sized juniors or teens. I guess they aren't supposed to have hips yet.
So have you considered trying on jeans at Torrid? :)

Well, I took a look at Torrid online. They had some cute stuff, but the jeans have too much decoration on them for me. The ones with the flowers were cute, but I really want plain old jeans that fit. Is that too much to ask for?
As for your dropping jeans, well, I'll hope you manage only to drop them in appropriate places.
Congrats to Eloise on her weight loss!
